Advanced Trauma Therapy encompasses various evidence-based approaches designed to help individuals cope with the emotional aftermath of traumatic experiences.
One specific method that falls under this umbrella is Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).
ART shares similarities with eye movement desensitization reprocessing therapy (EMDR), but it’s often considered more directive, easier to learn, and administered in a shorter time frame.

Assistance or guidance in resolving personal, social or psychological problems and difficulties by talking with a trained professional. The treatment can be used for specific problems such as bereavement or divorce. The aim is for patients to find better answers to their own problems.

Homeocranial therapy is a holistic treatment approach that aims to balance the body by addressing cranial (skull) structures and their relationship to overall health. It often involves gentle manipulation of the skull and surrounding tissues to promote healing and restore balance. The therapy is rooted in the idea that the cranial bones are not entirely fused and can be adjusted to influence various bodily functions, including the nervous system and cerebrospinal fluid flow. Practitioners of homeocranial therapy believe that misalignments or restrictions in the cranial bones can lead to various health issues, including headaches, migraines, and stress-related conditions. By applying specific techniques to the cranial structures, they aim to alleviate these issues and improve overall health and well-being. This therapy is somewhat like craniosacral therapy but may incorporate additional holistic and homeopathic principles. It's important to consult a trained and certified practitioner to ensure safe and effective treatment.

Therapeutic massage involves kneading of the muscles and joints of the body with the hands, alleviating pain and discomfort caused by injury or misuse. The treatment can be used for particular symptoms but has a holistic effect on the body promoting relaxation and reducing stress.
The following Massage Therapies are available:

  • Ayurvedic Facial Massage
  • Indian Head Massage
  • Swedish Massage
  • Sports and Remedial Massage
  • Deep Tissue Massage

These three therapies can be combined to help you recognize your own combination of strategies, so that you can control your internal resources to achieve the results you want - in your personal life, health or work.

Osteopathy is an established system of diagnosis and 'hands on' treatment in which a caring approach to the patient and their individual needs is of primary importance. Utilising safe, gentle and effective techniques such as massage, joint mobilisation and manipulation, osteopathic treatment aims to restore normal function to muscles, ligaments and joints in order to relieve pain, improve mobility and overall wellbeing.

Pilates is a specialized type of exercise to gain mindfulness, toned muscles, flexibility and pain relief in some physical issues. it is usually performed on a mat. The main principle of Pilates is to let the mind control the muscles, so, the Pilates needs to be performed with an awareness of each body movement and concentration on the breaths. Pilates strengthens the core, which includes muscles in the body's middle area that include the spine, glutes, hips, shoulder, abdominal, pelvic floor and lower back muscles.

There are 6 main principles of Pilates:

  • Breathing
  • Concentration
  • Centring
  • Control
  • Precision
  • Flow

Used to relieve tension and treat illness, Reflexology uses points on the feet, hands and head linked to every part of the body. it is a holistic, non-invasive therapy which helps the body to heal acute (short but severe) and chronic (persisting or recurring) conditions both physical and mental.

Reiki is a complementary health approach in which practitioners place their hands on or just above different areas of the body. it's based on an Eastern medicine belief that living beings have energy fields that support their health and vitality. Energy blocks, on the other hand, impede innate flow of energy, causing mot only health problems but also negative life circumstances like financial troubles or relationship problems, according to belief.

Yoga is an ancient practice originating in India, Yoga aims to unite body, mind, and spirit. It’s not just about physical postures; it’s a journey toward self-awareness, calmness, and liberation. Yoga can help build endurance, strength, flexibility, and overall well-being.

Ayurvedic Facial Massage

"The Ayurvedic Facelift Massage is a treatment that relaxes the facial muscles, stimulates the micro- circulation, and lymph flow, which promotes the regeneration of healthy, younger looking skin. Facial massage also stimulates and activates the natural metabolism of the skin tissue and improves muscle tone, thereby improving the skin's natural capacity to retain moisture. This deeply relaxing and revitalising massage nourishes both hair and hair roots. Using specific oils and techniques it improves blood circulation in the head region, helping to remove physical and emotional energy blockages. It also stimulates the sensory organs and relaxes the mind and soul. "

Homeo-Cranial Therapist

"Hello, I have been practising Homeocranial for over twenty seven years and have discovered that they are gentle, safe and highly effective in promoting an individual’s innate, self- healing ability. Homeocranial therapy is a unique combination and integration of the principles and practice of homeopathy and biodynamic craniosacral therapy. In response to physical knocks or emotional stress, the body’s tissues contract. Sometimes, particularly when the shock is severe or occurs within an emotional situation, the tissues stay contracted. Any stresses, strains, tensions, or traumas which have been stored in the body in this way will restrict the body’s functioning and may give rise to problems over the years. The effects may be both physical (such as back pain, migraine, or digestive disorders) and emotional (such as anxiety or depression). During a homeocranial treatment session I am listening with my knowing, feeling, and sensing hands in order to assess where there may be hidden strain patterns, or restricted flow of the cerebrospinal fluid. By mirroring back these patterns to your intelligent system, it will be able to release them and realign itself to balance and health. At the end of this initial session, I may also prescribe a ‘constitutional’ homeopathic medicine or remedy, which is made from an infinitesimal and energised dose of an animal, mineral or plant substance. This potentised remedy resonates with the totality of your symptoms and being and acts to stimulate your innate vital force to restore health, harmony, and balance. As a result of this treatment, your energy should improve, and your symptoms should clear from the ‘inside out’. It is also not uncommon to experience a slight intensification of your symptoms within the first week. This is a sign that a healing process has begun, and any discomfort or imbalance should soon pass. Hugh Harrison RCST, RSHom "

Chiropractor

"Hello, My name is Martin and I am the director of SmartHealth Chiropractic and chiropractor at Watchbell house. Born and raised on the Island, I’ve been linked with Watchbell since its conception and have worked there since graduating as a chiropractor/Sports therapist in 1997. Following qualification, I taught practical chiropractic technique at the McTimoney College for several years, was an executive committee member for the McT professional association and have latterly done some consultancy/lecturing work within Eastern Europe. Having developed an interest in endurance sports, I’ve historically led teams in setting national endurance records for both indoor and coastal rowing, completed ultra events and more recently survived Wim Hof ‘Ice man’ training. When possible, I still enjoy competing in running races and try to sea swim whenever possible. I have been a member of the Royal College of Chiropractors since its formation and have received a fellowship from the McTimoney Chiropractic association for services to charity and the profession. I consider my approach to chiropractic as holistic and ‘trauma informed’, as we can never divide the physical from the emotional when working with the body. I still work at Watchbell on a Monday, as well as from my West Wight practice for the rest of the week, as I believe it’s important to maintain a central Island location for patients who may struggle to travel further. "

"I have been a registered Chiropractor since 2002, practicing at Watchbell House and, since 2017, alongside my colleague Martin at our Freshwater Clinic. With nearly 40 years of clinical experience, including my background as a Paramedic in the NHS, I have held leadership roles in clinical practice, education, governance, and specialist operations. My work across various health and care sectors, including spearheading acute health services redesign, has reinforced my belief that wellness care is most effective when it is individualized, holistic, and continually evolving. My passion is helping patients reach their full physical potential—whether that means relieving pain, maintaining mobility, or enhancing physical performance. I utilize the McTimoney chiropractic method in combination with soft tissue therapy, acupuncture, and other mobilization techniques. My goal is to work closely with each individual, providing education and guidance to help them achieve their personal health and wellness goals. Suzanne Bond

Suzanne Bond

Advanced Trauma Therapist

"Hi I'm Suzanne Bond, with over 40 years experience working in the Healthcare Industry, including working at a Senior Sister level in Intensive Care, I often helped Patients with serious health issues, that may have been prevented, through lifestyle changes. Many of my patients would tell me that there environment & their internal programming kept them stuck in cycles of stress, overwhelm & helplessness, unable to create any lasting or effective change. Frustrated, I left Nursing with the one goal of helping people within the community Transform their lives. After many years of Training in what I believe to be the best methods in the World today, I created a Community Health & Wellness Clinic, I worked closely with Doctors, Health Care Professionals, Social Services & became an accepted supplier to our local NHS providers. Myself & the Clinic won awards! Having a thriving Clinic & seeing over 40 clients a week, soon took its toll. Over COVID lockdown I was diagnosed with 2 separate types of Cancer - Neuroendocrine Cancer & Melanoma & also received a diagnosis of severe Heart failure. After two surgical operations I went on my own journey of Transformation and much to my Cardiac Professor's amazement, I reversed my heart failure!! Looking for a total Life Reset in July 2023, I sold my Clinic & relocated to the Isle of Wight. I continue my Trauma & Transformation work on a more manageable level & work with Adults, Teenagers & Children with PTSD, CPTSD, Anxiety, OCD, Depression, Fears & Phobia's, Addictions, Weight management. We don't need to suffer and the methods I use set people free from the past chains of emotional pain "
